Nido’s original website was built over five years ago to support a UK-focused business model. Since then, the company has pivoted almost entirely to the European market, fundamentally changing its structure, narrative, and operational needs. What began as a simple UK-centric platform had become bloated and complex, making even routine content changes cumbersome for the marketing team and code updates risky and time-consuming for developers.
In addition, the site’s reliance on outdated API integrations for property details resulted in slow performance and declining conversion rates. The platform was no longer fit for purpose, difficult to manage, costly to maintain, and unable to support Nido’s evolving business direction. Recognising these challenges, LAB worked with Nido to explore a re-platforming strategy and future-proof technology stack.
To address Nido’s digital challenges, LAB proposed migrating the website from WordPress to Prismic, a more intuitive and efficient CMS widely used by our other clients, whereby Prismic offered a streamlined content management experience, making updates easier for Nido’s team.
The migration process was carefully planned, with daily stand-up meetings to ensure smooth progress and clear communication. LAB’s UX and design teams developed wireframes and fresh, brand-aligned visuals, regularly sharing updates and demos to keep Nido involved within the design process.
To enhance Nido’s digital experience and boost engagement, particularly among Spanish residents who showed lower interaction, we wanted to ensure the new site resonated with students. We conducted user testing with Spanish participants, gathering valuable feedback that shaped our approach.
The refreshed, user-friendly website not only looks modern and engaging but also provides an improved user experience for their student audience, whilst specifically encouraging greater engagement from Spanish residents. With Prismic in place, Nido’s team could efficiently manage content, keeping their digital presence aligned with their commitment to student experience and community.
By migrating to Prismic and implementing feedback from user testing, Nido’s digital presence is now more intuitive, visually appealing, and aligned with their student users' needs:
